LEE SUNG HUN(NAM KANG), born on the close of Yi Dynasty, has grown up as a common farmer s son. But when the nation was a crucial moment, he deovted all his energies to education for the rescue of the nation. He thought that it was urgently necessary to raise an educational standard of a people, so as to free from the powers’ influence and get an independence movement. LEE SUNG HUN(NAM KANG) concentrated his energies on education for offspring by founding 0-SAN school in spite of all economic difficulties. He was the pacifist and nationlist, who hoped that peace and glory would always have been dwelled in Korea, Japan and China in the East by helping one another. Educational idea of O-SAN SCHOOL was for the whole man possessing knowledge, virtue, physical culture on the spirit of people, the public, Christianity. And his educational philosophy has been cherished and developed untilnow. It is said that his thought based on the independent spirit for the rescue of the nation, the educational thought and Christianity, has been greatly contributed to build a new Korean View.
